Description

This kitchen remodeling project in Frederick, MD pairs deep black shaker cabinetry with warm cherry wood accents for a two-tone layout that feels both modern and grounded. The cooking wall is anchored by a custom curved white plaster range hood with arched side niches, walnut floating shelves, and a full-height white and black veined quartz slab backsplash behind a stainless steel gas range with brushed brass knobs. Matching quartz continues across the countertops and wraps both islands with waterfall edges, creating a continuous flow of veining through the space. The main island holds a built-in beverage center, wine refrigerator, and a stainless steel microwave drawer, while the peninsula includes a white farmhouse apron sink with a brushed brass pull-down faucet and open bar seating on the other side. A floor-to-ceiling cherry cabinet run with fluted glass doors and interior lighting adds display storage, balanced by a panel-ready black refrigerator and full-height pantry cabinets. Inside the cabinetry, blind corner pull-out shelving and a divided utensil pull-out keep cookware and tools within reach of the range. Brushed brass pulls and knobs, oversized white and gold pendant lights, recessed lighting, and refinished hardwood flooring tie the kitchen into the adjoining dining area and fireplace living room, giving the home a more open, connected main level with significantly more storage and prep space.
