Description
This interior renovation in Capitol Hill, Washington, D.C., involved a structural and mechanical update of the primary living space. Our firm managed the installation of a high-performance linear gas fireplace integrated into a floor-to-ceiling focal wall finished with large-format, marble-veined porcelain slabs. The project included the engineering of custom built-in cabinetry with integrated LED lighting and oak-veneer back panels. We also executed a comprehensive staircase rebuild, featuring natural oak treads and risers paired with a modern horizontal stainless steel railing system. Technical updates included electrical rerouting for the built-in units and recessed lighting, as well as the application of vertical wood slat accent panels (tambour) to provide texture and structural depth. The project focused on optimizing the room's floor plan while providing a durable, high-standard finish consistent with the property's architectural profile.
